This week is a little different. Instead of me doing the work of writing something for you, I made something for you to do. It's been sitting on my desk for a while now and I am therefore very excited to be able to share this with you.
It's called the Social Fitness Check-In. A free workbook, that came out of reading "The Good Life" by Robert Waldinger, the psychiatrist behind the longest-running happiness study in history. The finding that wouldn't leave me alone was that the quality of your relationships is the single strongest predictor of how long and how well you live. Stronger than income, cholesterol, exercise. All of it.
I already knew some of what he writes about from living it. My people are what got me through the hardest things, but I hadn't fully understood how physical the impact is, on your body, not just your mind and that part genuinely surprised me.
So I built something around it. It maps who's in your life, looks at seven different kinds of connection, asks you six questions worth sitting with, and ends with one small thing to do each day for a week.
It just takes about 20 minutes. Yes, you do have 20 minutes. So grab a pen and have fun!
